About This Audiobook

Colleen Hoover’s *Maybe Now* delivers the kind of emotional gut-punch fans expect, but this time, it’s wrapped in the aching sweetness of a love worth fighting for. The finale to the *Maybe Someday* series pulls Ridge and Sydney from their quiet happiness into a storm of unresolved tension, jealousy, and the kind of choices that redefine priorities. Hoover doesn’t just tie up loose ends—she unravels them with the precision of a novelist who knows exactly how to make you ache. The romance isn’t just steamy or sentimental; it’s raw, messy, and gloriously human, with side characters like Warren and Lucy stealing scenes (and hearts) in ways that feel earned, not forced.

What sets this audiobook apart is its narration quartet. Angela Goethals and Jonathan Todd Ross anchor the emotional depth of Ridge and Sydney’s relationship, their voices conveying exhaustion and devotion in equal measure. Rebekkah Ross and Zachary Webber shine as the fiery Warren and the wounded Lucy, their performances injecting levity and vulnerability into the heavier themes. The production balances intimacy and scale, making the audio feel like a late-night conversation with a friend who’s equal parts therapist and cheerleader.

Editor's Review ★★★★☆

AudioBook Atlas

I went into *Maybe Now* expecting the Hoover we all know—the tearjerker queen who delivers on romance but sometimes stumbles with pacing and believability. What I got was something sharper: a story that’s as much about the people around the couple as the couple themselves. Angela Goethals nails Sydney’s internal monologue—her frustration, her fear, her quiet resilience—without ever resorting to melodrama. Jonathan Todd Ross, meanwhile, makes Ridge’s stubbornness feel less like a flaw and more like a defense mechanism, his gruff delivery masking a vulnerability that’s impossible to ignore. The narration elevates the material, especially in scenes where the dialogue could’ve felt clunky in print. That said, *Maybe Now* isn’t without its hiccups. The subplot involving Lucy feels tacked on at times, as if Hoover was trying to cram in too much character development in the final act. And while Warren’s antics are a highlight, his role occasionally veers into caricature, risking the tonal whiplash that plagues so many second-chance romances. But these are minor quibbles in a story that otherwise delivers on its promise: a love story that’s as much about the mess of real life as the fantasy of it. The audiobook’s production ensures you’ll feel every pang, every laugh, and every *oh shit* moment right alongside the characters.
