Misfit Alpha

As an editor, I'm always drawn to audiobooks that push the boundaries of their respective genres, and Misfit Alpha does just that. From the opening chapters, I was captivated by Foxe's unflinching portrayal of Amber's inner turmoil, which expertly balances introspection with propulsive action sequences. Dolan's narration is, without a doubt, one of the standout aspects of this production. Her ability to convey Amber's raw emotion, from desperation to defiance, is truly remarkable. That being said, there were moments where the pacing felt slightly uneven, particularly during the novel's climactic final act. The rapid-fire delivery of some key plot twists occasionally left me feeling a tad disoriented, and I had to rewind the audiobook to fully process the information. However, these minor quibbles aside, Misfit Alpha is a gripping, thought-provoking listen that will linger with you long after the final credits roll. If you're a fan of darker, more complex fantasy, do not miss this one.
