The narration elevates the source material, especially in scenes where Gavin’s internal monologue wars with his online addiction; you *feel* the friction of his self-deception. That said, the pacing stumbles slightly in the middle third, where the emotional beats drag just enough to make the 8-hour runtime feel like a sprint through molasses. And while I adored the Edmonton setting, the minor character of Gavin’s sister sometimes felt like a plot device more than a person—her role in pushing the story forward occasionally undercuts her otherwise strong voice.
