The Office Bet

I went into *The Office Bet* expecting another tired enemies-to-lovers trope, but Eden Finley carved out something fresh with surgical precision. The narrator’s voice—icy, competitive, and relentlessly funny—immediately pulled me into their personal hellscape of a workplace rivalry. Archer Holloway is the kind of character who should annoy the hell out of you (and he does), but by the time the slow-burn romance starts smoldering, you’re already emotionally invested in his redemption. That said, the middle act drags a little; the bet that fuels the plot feels stretched thin across too many pages, and the resolution wraps up a tad too tidily for my taste. Still, Tim Paige’s narration is a revelation. His timing on the zingers is impeccable, and the way he modulates between biting sarcasm and raw vulnerability sells every emotional beat. Liam DiCosimo’s chapters as Archer are a masterclass in smarmy charm—you’ll hate how much you like him. The production is crisp, with just enough ambient office noise to sell the setting without distracting from the performances. If you love your romances with bite, bark, and a side of workplace sabotage, this is your next binge.
