Monster: A Psychological Thriller

Listening to 'Monster' is like being trapped in a dark room with a madman, but you're not the one in danger - you're the one trying to understand him. Susan Marlowe's narration is nothing short of extraordinary. She breathes life into Caroline, making her a fierce, relatable heroine, and yet, she also manages to make the monster, Jack, almost... understandable. It's a testament to both Green's writing and Marlowe's narration that you find yourself questioning, even sympathizing, with a character who's anything but sympathetic. The pacing is perfection, building tension like a slow burn before exploding into a climax that's as shocking as it is satisfying. My only critique? The ending felt a tad too neat, but that's a minor quibble in an otherwise outstanding audiobook.
