I hit play expecting a three-minute time filler, and instead got a sonic high five. The Virtual Voice narration is a joy—equal parts chipper and cheeky, with a pitch that flips between monster chirps and human narration like a DJ at a toddler rave. The pacing is relentless, which is both the genius and the flaw: by the 90-second mark, my almost-three-year-old was already shouting numbers, but by the final “ROAR,” I was gasping for air. The production is crisp, with tiny sound design flourishes—a crunch of leaves when they count feet, a drumroll for each correct answer—that make the audio feel like a mini interactive experience. My only nit: the transitions between scenes are abrupt to the point of jarring, giving the whole thing the feel of a playlist on shuffle. Still, the monsters’ enthusiasm is contagious, and the math feels organic, never like a chore. Three minutes well spent.
