Mountain Man: 2nd Prequel

As an avid fan of the series, I went into Mountain Man: 2nd Prequel with high expectations – and I'm thrilled to say that it delivers. R.C. Bray's narration is simply outstanding, imbuing the story with a sense of gritty realism that perfectly captures the tone of the series. Blackmore's writing is at the top of its game, with a narrative that's expertly paced and full of unexpected twists and turns. If I have one quibble, it's that the supporting cast feels a bit one-dimensional at times – the protagonist is so well-realized that it can be jarring to switch to other characters. Still, this is a minor complaint in an otherwise exceptional listen. With its breakneck pacing and expertly handled world-building, Mountain Man: 2nd Prequel is a must-listen for fans of the genre.
