I approached My Name Is Bridget with a heavy heart, knowing the dark history it delves into. Yet, I was unprepared for the sheer emotional punch of this audiobook. Amy Molloy's narration is nothing short of exceptional. She effortlessly captures the essence of each character, from Bridget's quiet strength to the cruel, cold-hearted nuns. The pacing is slow and steady, allowing the story's gravity to sink in, while O'Reilly's vivid descriptions of the home's squalor and the women's resilience make for a powerful listening experience. My only critique is that the historical context could have been a bit more explicit at times, but that's a minor quibble in an otherwise outstanding audiobook.
