Neanderthal Planet

I went into Neanderthal Planet expecting a quick, engaging read, and I was blown away by just how much depth and substance Heppner packed into this 8-hour audiobook. From the opening scene, Braun's narration had me hooked, drawing me into a world of high-tech politics and ancient tribal rivalries that's equal parts fascinating and repellent. As the story unfolds, Heppner skillfully ratchets up the tension, leaping from one cliffhanger to the next with an expert's touch. One of the standout aspects of Neanderthal Planet is its thought-provoking exploration of the intersection between human nature and technology. Heppner raises tough questions about the consequences of scientific progress and the dangers of playing god, all while delivering a narrative that's as much fun as it is intellectually stimulating. My only quibble? At times, the supporting cast feels a bit one-dimensional, making it difficult to fully invest in their struggles and motivations. Still, this is a minor complaint in an otherwise excellent audiobook that's sure to keep you up late at night, eager for the next installment.
