I was hooked from the moment Franki Amato's bridal shower plans were derailed by a hit-and-run. Madeline Mrozek's narration is a delight, bringing Franki's wit and New Orleans' unique atmosphere to life. The pacing is spot-on, balancing suspense and humor, with twists that had me second-guessing my suspicions. I did find some of the secondary characters a tad one-dimensional, but that's a minor quibble in an otherwise engaging listen. If you're craving a mystery that's as intoxicating as a Sazerac, 'Nocino Noir' is your poison.
