And while the pacing keeps things moving, a few chapters (looking at you, ‘The Creation of the World’) drag like a ship stuck on sand, with Knight’s enthusiasm unable to fully mask the thin material. Still, the audiobook shines brightest when it zooms in on the gods’ petty rivalries—Thor’s tantrums over stolen goats or Freyja’s endless one-upmanship over other deities. The production team earns bonus points for balancing music and silence so well that you forget you’re listening to an audiobook at all.
