About This Audiobook

OverLondon is a steampunk treat that serves up a healthy dose of intrigue and humor. In a city where priests literally go off like fireworks, it's up to private investigator Edmund 'Mund'rel to unravel the mystery. Penney's world-building is impressive, with airships, automaton butlers, and a church that's more corporate than sacred. Brendan McDonald's narration is a perfect fit, bringing a dry wit and crisp enunciation that makes even the most complex steampunk jargon accessible. This isn't just a mystery; it's a love letter to the genre, filled with clever twists and turns that will keep you guessing until the very end.

Editor's Review ★★★★☆

AudioBook Atlas

I was immediately drawn into OverLondon's unique world, where the Church of Vengeful Acquisition is as much a power player as the city's guilds. McDonald's narration is a standout, his voice perfectly capturing the dry wit and sarcasm of our protagonist, Mund. The pacing is excellent, balancing action-packed scenes with slower moments that allow the world-building to shine. My only critique is that some of the steampunk jargon can feel overwhelming at times, but it's a small price to pay for such a richly imagined world. If you're a fan of steampunk, mystery, or just a good old-fashioned puzzle, OverLondon is a must-listen.
