Editor's Review ★★★★

AudioBook Atlas

I was thoroughly engaged by 'Queens of the Conquest', thanks in large part to Julia Franklin's skilled narration. Her steady pace and clear enunciation made it easy to follow the complex web of alliances and rivalries between the queens and their husbands, sons, and courtiers. Weir's writing is dense with historical detail, but Franklin's narration brings it to life in a way that feels both informative and immersive. My one quibble is that some of the supporting characters felt a bit underdeveloped, and I occasionally found myself wanting more context about the broader historical events unfolding around the queens. Overall, however, this is a rich and rewarding listen that will appeal to fans of historical biography and royal history.
