I was drawn into the dark, twisted world of Resurrection of the Heart from the very first moment. The dual narration by Wen Ross and Kai Kennicott is nothing short of exceptional. Ross's portrayal of the heroine, Elara, is a masterclass in emotional depth, capturing her strength, vulnerability, and the desperate love that drives her. Kennicott's Santiago is equally impressive, bringing a chilling intensity to the role that will send shivers down your spine. The pacing is perfect, building tension and suspense until it reaches a climax that is as shocking as it is satisfying. However, I must admit, the story's reliance on certain tropes did leave me wishing for a bit more originality in the latter half. But even with that minor critique, Resurrection of the Heart is a standout audiobook that I would highly recommend to fans of dark romance and gothic horror.
