That said, the middle third drags a bit as Callypso’s internal monologue circles her guilt—beautifully written, but it risks losing casual listeners. The chemistry between Callypso and the human at the heart of her latest IOU is electric, charged with the kind of tension that makes you hold your breath. Stephens sells every charged silence, every whispered threat. The production quality is crisp, letting the world’s eerie magic hum in the background without drowning out the narration. My only real critique? The resolution leans into a trope I’ve seen before, but it’s forgivable because the journey’s so deliciously twisted.
