Ring Shout

I was immediately drawn into 'Ring Shout' by its unique premise and Clark's evocative writing. Waites' narration is a standout feature of this audiobook, her voice perfectly capturing the period and the tension of the story. She masterfully switches between accents and tones to differentiate characters, making it easy to follow the action even when the story jumps between perspectives. The pacing is excellent, balancing moments of intense action with quieter, more reflective scenes that allow the story's themes to breathe. My only critique is that the story's magical elements sometimes feel a bit underdeveloped, but this is a minor quibble in an otherwise outstanding listen.
