Ruthless Bodyguard

I went into *Ruthless Bodyguard* expecting another tired mafia romance where the heroine is either a damsel or a femme fatale with zero depth. What I got was a story that felt like it was written by someone who’s actually spent time around people who play dirty for a living. Katarina Moretti isn’t a simpering socialite—she’s a woman who grew up in the underworld and knows exactly how to use its rules against her enemies. Her bodyguard, for all his stoicism, is a walking contradiction: disciplined enough to dismantle a gun with his bare hands but helpless against the way she laughs at his jokes. Virtual Voice’s narration deserves special praise here. The synthetic voice is so polished it’s easy to forget it’s not human, and the performance leans into the story’s raw intensity without overacting. Kudos to Grace for the banter—it’s witty enough to keep the romance from feeling cloying, but the stakes never waver. My one critique? The villain’s motivations feel a tad undercooked, like he’s there to move the plot forward rather than act like a real threat. And while the production is clean, a few more ambient sounds—distant gunfire, the hum of a city at night—could’ve deepened the atmosphere. Still, these are minor quibbles in an otherwise gripping listen.
