I dove into Scaramouche the Kingmaker with some trepidation, worried that the series might be starting to feel stale. But Sabatini's writing remains as compelling as ever, and Virtual Voice's narration is a major asset. The voice acting is superb, capturing the wit and charm of Andre Louis. One area where the production falters is in its handling of the numerous supporting characters - sometimes their introductions feel a bit rushed. Overall, though, this is a gripping listen that fans of historical adventure will devour. My only other quibble is that the pacing can feel a bit uneven in the final chapters, but this is a minor complaint in an otherwise excellent production.
