I devoured The Door, and I'm still reeling from the experience. Rebecca Roberts' narration is phenomenal, imbuing Shale with a relatable, human quality that makes her struggles feel all too real. As a listener, I was completely invested in Shale's journey, particularly during the more intense scenes where Shale's fears and doubts come to a head. One area where I felt the pacing faltered slightly was during the slower sections, where the tension and suspense felt a tad too prolonged. However, this is a minor quibble in an otherwise engaging and immersive listen. The production quality is top-notch, with crisp, clear sound and excellent sound design that effectively creates a sense of atmosphere. The pacing is generally well-balanced, with a good mix of action, dialogue, and reflection. If you're a fan of mystery, suspense, or coming-of-age stories, The Door is an excellent choice.
