About This Audiobook

Kenny Soward's Shades and Dust masterfully interweaves technology and suspense, spinning a cat-and-mouse game that's as plausible as it is chilling. The story hurtles forward at a breakneck pace, driven by a web of corruption that threatens not just the vulnerable, but also the protagonist himself. With meticulous research and razor-sharp plotting, Soward creates a gripping narrative that'll keep listeners guessing until the very end.

The audiobook, narrated by Ryan Pierson, expertly captures the sense of urgency and unease that permeates the story. Pierson's performance brings depth and nuance to the characters, making it easy to become invested in their plight. His expressive voice brings out the best in the narrative, conjuring vivid images of the FEMA camp and its labyrinthine corridors.

What sets Shades and Dust apart from other technothrillers is its willingness to tackle the darker aspects of human nature. Soward's exploration of corruption and exploitation is unflinching, and while it can be uncomfortable at times, it's also necessary for the story's impact. If you're a fan of conspiracy thrillers or are simply looking for a gripping listen, Shades and Dust is an excellent choice.

Editor's Review ★★★★☆

AudioBook Atlas

I have to admit, I was hooked from the very first chapter of Shades and Dust. The way Kenny Soward expertly wove together technology and suspense had me on the edge of my seat from the get-go. The story's complexity and depth were incredibly impressive, and I found myself rewinding to catch details I'd missed the first time around. Ryan Pierson's narration was equally impressive, bringing a sense of urgency and tension to the narrative that perfectly matched the story's pace. One of the things that impressed me most about Shades and Dust was its ability to balance action and introspection. The story moves at a breakneck pace, with twists and turns that kept me guessing until the very end. At the same time, Soward takes the time to delve into the protagonist's backstory and emotional state, making it easy to become invested in his plight. If I have any criticisms, it's that the supporting characters sometimes feel a bit one-dimensional, but this is a minor quibble in an otherwise exceptional listen. Overall, I'd highly recommend Shades and Dust to fans of technothrillers and suspenseful storytelling. The combination of Soward's meticulous research and Pierson's engaging narration makes for an unputdownable listen that's perfect for a long road trip or a lazy weekend afternoon.
