I’ll admit, I side-eyed the ‘menopause werewolves’ pitch at first—until Em Eldridge’s narration sold me in the first chapter. Her Becca is the perfect blend of weary and wicked, the kind of protagonist who sighs at her own bad decisions before charging into them anyway. The audiobook’s strength lies in its pacing: Lundoff balances snappy dialogue with quieter moments of Becca grappling with her new identity, and Eldridge makes both land. The pack’s group scenes, especially, crackle with energy, like a cross between a book club and a biker gang. That said, the plot occasionally meanders. A subplot involving a rival pack feels undercooked, and the romance (while charming) sometimes slows the momentum. The production is clean, though I wished for more atmospheric sound design—this is a werewolf story, after all!—to heighten the transformation scenes. Still, *Silver Moon* is a rare gem: a fantasy that’s as much about female friendship and second acts as it is about claws and full moons. If you love your paranormal with heart, humor, and zero apologies for its protagonists’ age, this is your next listen.
