Schacherer’s deadpan delivery of a contestant’s painfully earnest song—it’s the kind of detail that makes the audiobook feel immersive, like you’re right there in the competition hall laughing along with Aly and AJ. That said, the resolution of the mystery feels a tad rushed, and the villain’s motives are a little underdeveloped.
