As a listener, I was immediately drawn into Liu's unique premise, which kept me guessing until the very end. Viedma's narration style, switching seamlessly between human and ant perspectives, added depth to the story. He captured the ants' collective consciousness with a haunting, almost humming quality, while humans were portrayed with a warm, conversational tone. The pacing was excellent, building tension as the two species' paths converged. My only critique is that some of the scientific explanations could have been simplified for non-expert listeners. Overall, this audiobook is a compelling blend of philosophy, science, and adventure that will leave you questioning your understanding of intelligence and evolution.
