Solstice

Julia Farhat’s narration is the secret weapon of *Solstice*. Her voice has a brittle edge that perfectly matches Piper’s world-weary, defensive tone, but she doesn’t shy away from the quieter moments either—her delivery of Piper’s vulnerable confessions is devastatingly real. The production itself is polished but never sterile; the occasional hum of machinery or distant echo of a heat bubble bursting adds texture without overwhelming the listening experience. That said, the story’s third act stumbles a bit. The resolution feels rushed, and some of the lore drops feel shoehorned in, undercutting the otherwise immersive worldbuilding. Still, the chemistry between Piper and her love interest, Thomas, crackles through the narration, making their doomed romance impossible to ignore. If you’re here for a dystopian that sidesteps YA tropes in favor of something grittier and more original, *Solstice* delivers—just don’t expect a tidy ending.
