The narration elevates this romance from solid to standout. Laurie West’s Tulsa is a masterclass in controlled desperation—her voice cracks just enough to sell the heartbreak without tipping into melodrama. Sean Hardisty’s deep, measured delivery suits the hero’s rigid exterior, but it’s when he lets his guard slip that the performance soars. The pacing, however, stumbles in the final act. Baker’s habit of dragging emotional payoffs with repetitive introspection grinds the momentum to a halt just when the story could explode. A tighter edit would’ve avoided the slog through a half-dozen reflective montages. That said, the production quality is pristine—clean audio, balanced tones, and no distracting artifacts. The chemistry between narrators sells the steamy scenes, though their pacing isn’t always in sync. Tulsa’s internal monologues sometimes outpace their spoken exchanges, making Hardisty’s performance feel slightly delayed in key moments. Still, this is a romance with bite, and the flaws only underscore what works: a raw, relatable love story dressed in gritty Tulsa aesthetics.
