Rusty Nelson’s narration is the secret weapon of *Stalked*. He doesn’t just voice the characters—he *haunts* them. His gravel-rough delivery for the grizzled mountain men and the desperate, high-pitched panic of the families create an audio experience that’s visceral. The way he stretches out syllables in tense moments, like a held breath before a strike, makes the listener’s skin prickle. The production team deserves credit too; the subtle layering of background noise (wind, distant growls, the groan of rotting wood) isn’t just window dressing—it’s an immersive third character, pressing in on all sides. That said, Robbins’ world-building can feel a little sparse in places. The families’ backstories are efficient but lean, which occasionally makes their desperate choices harder to fully invest in emotionally. And while Nelson’s performance is stellar, his voice for the younger characters sometimes slips into exaggerated childishness, which grated after a while. Still, these are minor quibbles in a story that’s otherwise a masterclass in tension. The pacing never relaxes—every chapter feels like a ticking clock, and the final act is a masterstroke of primal horror.
