The story’s premise—a colony unprepared for Earth’s sudden, *early* arrivals—is executed with a precision that avoids the usual tropes. Wells doesn’t shy away from the psychological toll of being ‘outdated’; the Pathfinder kids aren’t just fighting for survival, they’re grappling with obsolescence, and the narration sells that emotional weight. Cindy Kay’s performance as Zero is particularly stellar—her voice cracks with exhaustion in one scene, then hardens with resolve in the next, making her the perfect anchor for the chaos. That said, the **full-cast approach isn’t flawless**. While most narrators nail their roles (Eunice Wong’s icy Stargazer scientist is a standout), a few secondary characters blend together in crowded scenes, and the sound mixing occasionally buries quieter voices under louder ones. The production also leans *very* hard on dramatic pauses during reveals, which can feel heavy-handed after the third or fourth instance.
