Superheroes

I was drawn to 'Superheroes' by the promise of modern myth-making, and I was not disappointed. Beagle's stories are clever, often poignant explorations of what it means to be a hero in today's world. The narration is top-notch, with each narrator bringing a distinct voice and interpretation to their characters. My only critique is that the transitions between stories could be smoother, but this is a minor quibble in an otherwise excellent audiobook. I particularly enjoyed 'Lakisha's Gift', a heartwarming tale of a young woman who becomes a real-life superhero, and 'The Way of Cross and Dragon', a gripping, philosophical battle between two titans. This is a must-listen for fans of speculative fiction and myth retellings.
