I’ll admit, I was skeptical when a billionaire romance crossed my desk with a faith-based twist—I braced for heavy-handed moralizing or a too-perfect hero. But Krey’s writing is anything but saccharine. Duke Benton is a marvel of flawed humanity: arrogant, self-sabotaging, yet undeniably magnetic. What sold me was his arc—no one-dimensional conversion here. His growth is slow, messy, and utterly believable, especially when contrasted with the heroine’s steadfast faith. The narration by Virtual Voice is a mixed bag. The virtual actor nails Duke’s gruff charm and the heroine’s warmth, but some secondary characters sound eerily flat, as if they’ve been auto-tuned. Pacing is tight, though the middle sags slightly with a few too many business meetings dragging things down. My biggest critique? The ending feels rushed, wrapping up a few subplots too neatly. Still, the emotional payoff—and Duke’s final moments of vulnerability—more than make up for it. If you’re here for sweet romance with substance, this is your audiobook.
