The Boardwalk Trust

James Patrick Cronin's narration is the cherry on top of this beachy thriller sundae. His casual, SoCal drawl is the perfect complement to Duff's fast-paced, twisty plot. Cronin's ability to seamlessly shift between characters, from the laid-back PI Robert Worth to the enigmatic Delfina Famosa, keeps listeners engaged and guessing. The story moves at a breakneck pace, with just the right amount of detail to paint a vivid picture of the boardwalk's seedy underbelly without bogging down the action. However, some of the supporting characters could have used a bit more development to fully round out the world Duff has created. Despite this minor critique, The Boardwalk Trust is a must-listen for fans of gritty, sun-soaked mysteries that deliver a satisfying punch.
