As a lifelong listener of audiobooks, I found this JPS version of Genesis a breath of fresh air. Laufer and Fire's tag-team narration is nothing short of brilliant, each bringing their unique style to the table. Laufer's rich, almost melodic voice is perfect for the poetic openings and divine decrees, while Fire's emotive delivery brings life to the conversations and struggles of our ancestors. The pacing is spot-on, neither rushing through the sacred texts nor lingering too long on familiar stories. My only critique? I wish they'd included more sound effects or music to enhance the storytelling, but that's a minor quibble.
