I was immediately drawn into the world of Chase and Dagger, a detective agency that's not your average PI firm. The trolls were a fascinating twist, and I loved how Mooney explored their culture and history. Mathison's narration was a real treat, her voice capturing the essence of each character, from the gruff, no-nonsense Beldon to the enigmatic, otherworldly Aura. The pacing was spot-on, balancing suspenseful investigation with romantic tension. My only critique is that I wish there had been more time spent on developing the secondary characters, as they felt a bit one-dimensional at times. But overall, this was a thoroughly enjoyable listen that I'd highly recommend to fans of urban fantasy and paranormal romance.
