The Fake Divination Offense

As an editor, I was blown away by the way Vikas Adam brought Orok to life, imbuing the character with a vulnerability that made me root for him from the start. Adam's narration is engaging, energetic, and effortlessly conveys the humor and heart of the story. The pacing is well-balanced, with a steady flow of action, romance, and witty banter that kept me engaged throughout. One area where the audiobook excelled was its portrayal of the complex relationships between the characters, particularly the subtle tension between Orok and his PR partner. However, at times, I felt that the supporting cast could have benefited from more development. Some characters, while well-intentioned, felt a bit one-dimensional, detracting slightly from my overall experience. Nevertheless, the strengths of the narrative far outweigh these minor quibbles, making The Fake Divination Offense an absolute must-listen for fans of fantasy, romance, and LGBTQ+ representation.
