I was hooked from the moment Ash's car broke down in O'Leary. The dual narration is a stroke of genius, allowing us to truly inhabit both characters' heads. Cendese's Silas is a joy to listen to, his gruff exterior slowly melting away as he falls for Ash. Toma's Ash is equally compelling, his wit and vulnerability making him an instantly likable protagonist. The pacing is near-perfect, balancing romantic tension with a slow-burn mystery that keeps you on the edge of your seat. My only critique is that I wish we'd spent a little more time exploring the town's dynamics and its residents. But that's a small price to pay for a story that left me with a warm, fuzzy feeling. If you're looking for a heartwarming LGBTQ+ romance that's equal parts sweet and steamy, look no further.
