The Good House

I devoured 'The Good House' in a single listening session, and I'm still reeling. Mary Beth Hurt is a revelation as Hildy, nailing her deadpan delivery and making you feel like you're sitting right next to her, sharing a bottle of wine and a secret. The story is a slow burn, but when the plot twists, it's like a punch to the gut. I loved the intricate web of secrets and lies Leary spins, and the way she peels back the layers of Hildy's past. The only critique I have is that some of the minor characters could use more development, but that's a small quibble in an otherwise outstanding listen. If you're looking for a gripping, atmospheric tale that'll make you question what's really going on behind closed doors, this is the audiobook for you.
