The Halloween Tree

I had the pleasure of listening to 'The Halloween Tree' and was thoroughly charmed by Susan Montanari's story. Nick Podehl's narration is a perfect fit for this whimsical tale, bringing the characters to life with ease. I particularly loved how Podehl captured the tree's grumpy demeanor, making it impossible not to fall in love with the gruff yet lovable tree. One of the things that really stood out to me was the way Montanari wove historical facts and fun tidbits throughout the story. It's clear that she's passionate about the subject matter and it shows in the way she presents it to the reader. If I have any criticism, it's that the story feels just a tad too short. At 9 minutes, it's a quick listen, but I found myself wishing it had been longer. Nevertheless, I think this is a minor quibble and overall, 'The Halloween Tree' is a delightful addition to any kids' audiobook collection.
