AudioBook Atlas

I approached 'The Horror Zine's Book of Ghost Stories' with a mix of excitement and trepidation. Excitement for the promise of 26 brand-new tales, trepidation because I knew I'd be losing sleep. Mark Dannells' narration is a treat, his ability to shift between characters and accents adding depth to each story. The pacing is excellent, with each tale a perfectly timed hit of horror. However, some stories felt a tad predictable, and a few could have benefited from a touch more subtlety. But these are minor quibbles in an otherwise outstanding collection. My advice? Listen during daylight hours, and keep the lights on.
