I was thoroughly entertained by The Impossible Fortune, and Fiona Shaw's narration was a big part of that. Her voice is like a warm hug, making the characters feel like old friends, and her pacing is spot on, expertly ratcheting up the tension as the story unfolds. One of the things that really stood out to me was the way the author wove together the different plot threads, creating a complex and engaging mystery that was both fun and challenging to try to solve. If I have any critiques, it's that some of the supporting characters felt a bit one-dimensional at times, and the story could have benefited from a bit more attention to their backstories. Additionally, there were a few moments where the pacing felt a bit slow, but overall, these were minor quibbles in what was otherwise a thoroughly enjoyable listen.
