The Inspector Drake Mysteries, Books 1-8 and Prequel Novella

I was immediately captivated by the haunting narration of Richard Elfyn, whose Welsh accent and expressive voice perfectly capture the brooding atmosphere of North Wales. As I listened to the eight books in the Inspector Drake series, I found myself drawn into the intricate web of crimes and personal vendettas that Detective Inspector Drake must unravel. From the prequel novella, where we're introduced to the enigmatic protagonist, to the heart-stopping final chapters, these audiobooks offer a masterful blend of suspense and character development. However, I did find that some of the later books in the series felt a bit repetitive, and the pacing could have been more consistent throughout. Overall, though, this audiobook series is a must-listen for mystery and crime fiction fans who appreciate a dark, atmospheric setting and complex characters.
