As a fan of both cozy mysteries and historical fiction, I found 'The Lacquer Screen' to be an absolute gem. The story is cleverly plotted, with a satisfying twist that I didn't see coming. Kim's narration is a perfect fit for the material, his voice capturing the essence of Judge Dee's wisdom and authority.
