As a listener, I felt like I was right there in the Brick, Kansas City, enjoying a masterclass in storytelling. David Ossman's narration is nothing short of brilliant - he's like a one-man band, painting vivid pictures with his words, punctuated by the perfect jazz riffs. The stories are a mix of the absurd and the profound, each one a little gem that leaves you chuckling or pondering. The pacing is spot on, never letting the humor flag or the wisdom get too heavy. My only critique? I wish it was longer! The production is seamless, with the live audience laughter adding an authentic, warm touch. However, at times, the jazz can feel a tad too loud, slightly overshadowing Ossman's voice. But that's a minor quibble in an otherwise outstanding audio experience.
