The Paragon Games

I’ll admit, I was skeptical about returning to the Marvellers universe for a fourth year—but *The Paragon Games* proved me wrong. Joniece Abbott-Pratt’s narration is a standout, particularly her ability to differentiate characters with distinct cadences and emotions. Ella’s fiery determination comes through with a sharp edge, while Jason’s dry wit lands with perfect timing. The production quality is top-notch, with subtle sound effects enhancing the immersive experience without overpowering the storytelling. That said, the pacing stumbles slightly in the middle act when the Paragon Games’ rules are explained at length; it’s necessary but drags the momentum. The emotional payoff, however, is worth it. Clayton doesn’t shy away from tough themes—identity, legacy, and belonging—framed within a dazzling spectacle of magic and competition. By the finale, I was invested not just in the games, but in the characters’ growth. It’s a satisfying, if occasionally uneven, send-off to a series that’s as heartfelt as it is inventive.
