Greg Padgett’s narration is the secret weapon of *The Radical Mind*. His voice lands like a judge’s gavel—each syllable clipped, each pause pregnant with implication. When Horowitz eviscerates the “victimhood industrial complex,” Padgett’s delivery makes it feel less like an argument and more like an indictment, the kind that should echo in a courtroom. At 4 hours and 36 minutes, the pacing is brisk, but never rushed; Horowitz’s prose is muscular, and Padgett respects that by letting the sentences land like punches rather than dragging them out like a lecture. The audiobook’s tone is relentlessly serious, but there’s an undercurrent of dark humor in Horowitz’s takedowns of elite hypocrisy—Padgett sells it perfectly, like a stand-up comic who’s just switched to a criminal trial. That said, the book isn’t without flaws. Horowitz’s tendency to paint complex phenomena in broad strokes occasionally veers into caricature, especially when addressing movements he opposes. The chapter on media bias, for instance, leans heavily on examples that feel cherry-picked to preach to the choir rather than persuade skeptics. And while the audiobook’s production is crisp, the lack of chapter markers in the file (despite being a digital download) is a frustrating oversight for listeners who want to jump to specific arguments. Still, these are minor irritants in an otherwise electrifying listen. If you’re the type who loses sleep over the erosion of foundational principles, Padgett and Horowitz will have you nodding in furious agreement—even if you still disagree with some of the conclusions.
