Editor's Review ★★★★☆

AudioBook Atlas

As a long-time fan of Oliver Sacks, I approached this audiobook with both anticipation and trepidation. Anticipation, because Sacks' writing is always a delightful blend of scientific rigor and human warmth. Trepidation, because I knew this would be his final work. Dan Woren and Kate Edgar do an excellent job bringing Sacks' words to life, with Woren's steady, reassuring narration perfectly capturing Sacks' professorial tone. Edgar's interludes, drawn from Sacks' personal letters and journals, provide a poignant counterpoint, humanizing the great thinker and reminding us of the man behind the ideas. The pacing is excellent, with each essay standing alone while also contributing to the broader themes of the collection. My only critique is that the transitions between narrators could be smoother, but this is a minor quibble in an otherwise outstanding audiobook.
