As an editor, I was thoroughly enthralled by Amanda Leigh Cobb's narration in The Serpent and the Wings of Night. Her ability to convey Oraya's determination and vulnerability is a testament to her skill as a narrator. One of the standout features of this audiobook is its pacing, which moves at a breakneck speed, perfectly capturing the frenetic energy of the Kejari tournament. However, at times, I felt that the supporting cast could have benefited from more development, particularly in the early stages of the story. That being said, Broadbent's writing is engaging, and the world she's created is rich in detail. The themes of identity, belonging, and the power of one's choices are expertly woven throughout the narrative. Cobb's narration elevates the story, bringing the characters to life in a way that's both authentic and immersive. Overall, I would highly recommend The Serpent and the Wings of Night to fans of fantasy romance and action-adventure.
