From the opening pages, Virtual Voice's narration had me captivated by the Israeli family's fish-out-of-water adventures in the American South. If I have any quibbles, it's that the audiobook's pacing can feel a tad uneven in places, with some transitions between scenes feeling a bit abrupt. Additionally, some listeners may find the author's critique of Google Maps as a navigational tool a bit too on-the-nose. However, these minor issues are more than outweighed by the audiobook's many charms, including its witty banter, richly detailed settings, and a family's search for belonging in a foreign land.
