Throne in the Dark - Die Flamme des Bösen

I went into *Throne in the Dark* expecting another installment of demon-lord-meets-innocent-human, but Caggiano’s writing and the narration duo of Corinna Dorenkamp and Tim Gössler elevated it into something I didn’t know I needed: a romantic comedy where the stakes are (literally) apocalyptic. Dorenkamp’s portrayal of the human heroine perfectly balances wide-eyed optimism with steel-spined defiance, while Gössler’s gravelly, commanding voice makes the demon lord a revelation—not just a brooding archetype, but a character who *knows* he’s being ridiculous (and leans into it). That said, the pacing stumbles slightly in the middle act when the worldbuilding threatens to derail the romance. A few too many infodumps about the demonic court’s hierarchy dragged the momentum down, though the payoff in the final act redeemed it. The production itself is crisp, with no distracting mouth clicks or overdone sound effects—just clean audio that lets the performances shine. If you’re tired of fantasy romances that take themselves too seriously, this one’s a breath of fresh, fiery air.
