The brevity that makes it gripping also means some cases feel rushed—like the segment on the ‘Astrology Killer,’ which hints at a fascinating psychological profile but wraps up just as it gets interesting. And while White’s monotone works for most stories, it occasionally flattens the emotional beats (the victim impact statements in the ‘Highway Shooter’ case could’ve used more gravitas). Still, the production is polished, with no distracting edits or volume spikes, and the case selection is fresh enough to hook even jaded true crime fans.
