I’ll admit, I’m a sucker for ghost stories that feel like they could’ve happened to someone I know—which is why Simon B. Murik’s *True Ghost Stories and Hauntings, Volume 4* hooked me immediately. Bronzi’s narration elevates the material from solid to spine-chilling. His ability to shift between calm, conversational tones and sudden, razor-sharp urgency mirrors the way these stories unfold, where the ordinary collapses into the horrifying without warning. The standout here is ‘The House on Blackthorn Lane,’ a slow-burn nightmare about a couple whose new home seems to resent their presence. Bronzi’s delivery of the wife’s growing panic is so vivid it feels like you’re right there in the room with her, which is either a compliment or a trauma I’ll need to process. That said, the production isn’t flawless. A few transitions between stories feel abrupt, as if the editor missed a beat in pacing, and one tale about a haunted mirror drags slightly more than it needed to. But these are minor quibbles in a collection that otherwise delivers on its promise: unsettling, well-told tales that don’t rely on gimmicks. If you’re the type who prefers your scares grounded in a chilling reality rather than supernatural spectacle, Bronzi and Murik’s collaboration is a match made in auditory horror heaven. Just don’t listen alone after midnight.
