That said, the lack of vocal variation can make longer accounts feel monotonous, especially when the writing itself is uneven. Some stories (like the one about the ‘vanishing hitchhiker’ update in a rideshare) are taut and visceral, while others meander into vague ‘bad feelings’ that don’t pay off. The production is barebones—no sound effects, no musical stings—just raw narration, which I appreciated until a few clunky edits (abrupt pauses, mispronounced place names) pulled me out of the moment. Still, the standout tales (the office worker who keeps hearing a child’s voice in an empty conference room; the trucker who swears a figure *moved with his headlights*) are worth the price of admission. At two hours, it’s the perfect length for a late-night listen, though I’d dock half a star for the occasional sloppy editing.
